The former Green Bay Packer held a teary eyed press conference at Lambeau field about his retirement from Green Bay. He answered press questions for about an hour while making it clear that his career in the NFL was over. Last season Favre scored 28 touchdowns, threw for 4.155 yards and compiled a 95.7 passer rating. He thanked his managers, coaches and players who supported him.
Brett Favre holds a few of NFL’s all-Time records
Favre is the only three-time AP MVP, led the packers to two Super Bowls,
- Most career NFL Touchdowns
- Most career NFL passing yards,
- Most career Pass Completions
- Most career pass attempts
- Most career NFL interceptions thrown
- Most consecutive starts among NFL quarterbacks
- Most career victories as a starting quarterback
This is an amazing feat by any NFL player to date. “I’ve given everything I possibly could five to this organization. I don’t think I’ve got anything left to give.” Favre said “I know I can play. But I don’t think I want to, and that’s what it really comes down to” He did have to answer the dreaded will he come back question. So the search is on for a backup quarterback for Favre’s successor, Aaron Rodgers.
